CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique): The LITEN (Laboratory of Innovation for New Energy Technologies and Nanomaterials) is one of the most important and recent European research centres on new technologies of energy. LITEN has solar energy and hydrogen technologies as core business. LITEN is a major partner for industry with 350 contracts of partnership research in course this year. The results of their technological research are patent: 96 patents registered by LITEN in 2008. With an annual budget of 69 M€, LITEN employs 550 people specialists in the fields of physics, chemistry and the nanomaterials ones.
The team concerned by EuminaFAB is developing all aspects of nanomaterials from manufacture and handling techniques through to safety considerations , characterization and applications; it is especially focused on the study of nano-objects (CNT, nanowires and super nets), nanopowders (nanotracers and advanced ceramics) and thin films based photovoltaic , fuel cells and batteries technologies.
