Networking Activities
There are five networking work packages which support the running of the infrastructure, and contribute to the longer term sustainability of the open access to multimaterial micro and nano fabrication and characterization technologies:
N1 - Entry Point
This is both the “e-public face” of EUMINAfab and the control organ, it governs the public web-pages and houses the project intranet. This work package forms the focal point of EUMINAfab: all material necessary for the web page is gathered, efforts to inform users of the offer of no fee open access to EUMINAfab are made, the calls published, applications are received, reviewed and. managed. The knowledge management system, developed in JRA1, is implemented, and project participants have their communication platform.
N2 - Roadmapping
Micro and nano fabrication technologies are cross cutting technologies and serve a wide range of application areas. Roadmapping can give insight on possible future success stories and highlight challenges facing further progress. Roadmapping activities focusing specifically on the technologies offered by EUMINAfab have the potential of highlighting a combination of technologies which could have a major impact. To date 120 documents relevant to EUMINAfab have been analysed and two Hot Spots of activity have been recognised. Over the coming months these will be evaluated by means of a questionnaire.
N3 - Dissemination
Initially dissemination activities have focused on making known the offer of no-fee user access to EUMINAfab. This has largely taken place in the presence at conferences and exhibitions using elements of the EUMINAfab Roadshow which have been produced under the work package. We are currently approaching a transition point where in addition to these publicity exercises, the dissemination of results of the joint research activities is also possible. Main events for 2010 were Smart Systems, EUSPEN, MM Live, E-MRS fall meeting, Micronora, 4M 2010. Education and training is a feature of our Winter and summer schools.

N4 - Researchers Exchange Programme
In house researchers are invited to take opportunity of trying out ideas at partner sites. The REP projects are typically of two weeks duration and may lead to the design of JRA projects between two or more partner sites.
N5 - Sustaining EUMINAfab Beyond 2013
Our goal is to do just this and this work package will help us devise a business model best suited to the needs of our partners and users.
